About:
In celebration of the Twin City Ballet Company's 40th Season, TCBC Board member Patti Wilhite has created a community-building event called Festival of Trees, which kicks off on Sunday, November 29 with an open-house from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. filled with the sights and sounds of Christmas. Forty designers have donated their time and talents to decorate 7 1/2 foot tall Christmas trees that will fill the Jack Howard Theater Lobby at the Monroe Civic Center. Santa will be there to take photos. Celebrity judges, including Mayor Jamie Mayo, Mayor Dave Norris, ULM First Lady Deborah Cofer, CVB Director Alana Cooper, NELAC CEO Tommy Usrey, Martha Jane Upshaw, and TCBC Artistic Director Linda Ford and others will decide which trees are special award worthy. Musical entertainment under the direction of Julian Jones will include area choirs and musicians.
Adult admission: $4 Children/Seniors: $3 Family Tickets: $14 (up to 6 people) Large Groups (20 or more): $1 per person.

Mission of Festival of Trees:
The Festival of Trees has been created to provide a common venue for the entire arts community to perform and celebrate the joys of Christmas. The event is a family-centered event that promotes multi-culturalism and interdisciplinary collaborations. Held in conjunction with the Twin City Ballet Company’s annual Christmas ballet, proceeds benefit future productions of the company. The Festival seeks to maintain the highest standards of quality and customer service, and will involve a broad range of community volunteers and support. Included are designers and sponsors, committee chairs, local musicians from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Louisiana Tech, private and public schools, as well as many organizations and churches. Over 100 individuals will give of their time and talents to make the Festival a success. The Festival is made up of more than 7 committees and is chaired and staffed by members of the TCBC’s Board and Guild. The festival’s goals include:

1. Developing support and community appreciation of the TCBC through a community-wide holiday event.
2. Promoting community volunteerism in support of the TCBC.
3. Proving a venue to support the TCBC.
