Twin City Ballet Company premieres its newest Christmas ballet, "Buddy, the Elf" for 20,000 school children from across the Ark-La-Miss the week of December 1-December 4 at the Monroe Civic Center Theatre. "Buddy the Elf" is choreographed and staged by Broadway veteran Joe Istre, who has created several full-length Christmas ballets for Twin City Ballet, including "Where Are You, Christmas?" and "Scrooge." "Buddy the Elf" is based loosely on the ginormously funny movie, "Elf." The title character of Buddy is played to perfection by local youth pastor and all-around talented and funny John Gist, a West Monroe native. Twin City Ballet Company is comprised of 127 local dancers ages 9 and up. For availability of seats and ticket pricing, contact Marsha Powell at 318.388.3011 or by email at twincityballet@hotmail.com
